About NUSRL Ranchi
The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, is a premier national law university established by the Government of Jharkhand. It operates under the high-level guidance of the Governor of Jharkhand (Rector) and the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court (Chancellor), with Hon’ble Justice Surya Kant of the Supreme Court of India serving as the Visitor.
About the CCRP Chair
Established in October 2024 by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, the Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP) serves as a specialized research hub. Its primary mandate is to:
- Act as a Think Tank: Provide data-driven insights for policy-related issues on consumer protection.
- Curriculum Development: Establish Consumer Affairs as a distinct academic subject for UG and PG levels.
- Teaching & Training: Enhance the quality of education and legal training in consumer law across the country.
Eligibility Criteria
The Chair welcomes a multidisciplinary cohort to foster holistic research. Students from the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply:
- 3-Year LL.B.: Students in their 2nd or 3rd year.
- 5-Year Integrated LL.B.: Students in their 2nd year or above.
- LL.M. Students: Currently enrolled in post-graduation.
- Non-Law Backgrounds: Students from NITs (Technical perspective) and National Institute of Design (NID) (Design/Communication perspective).
