About the Competition

The IDIA (Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access) MP Chapter, in collaboration with the Centre for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL), NLIU Bhopal, is proud to launch the second edition of this national essay competition. Sponsored by the renowned law firm S&R Associates, this initiative serves a dual purpose: promoting rigorous academic discourse in commercial law and supporting IDIA’s mission to make legal education accessible to underprivileged communities.

By participating, you contribute to a vision of a more inclusive legal profession while gaining a platform to publish your research in the acclaimed CBCL Blog.

Eligibility & Co-authorship

The competition is designed to bridge the gap between students and practitioners:

• Students: Currently pursuing Bachelor’s (LL.B.), Master’s (LL.M.), or Ph.D. degrees in Law.
• Professionals: Open to advocates, law firm associates, academics, and researchers.
• Co-authorship: Permitted for a maximum of two authors per entry.

Awards & Recognition

The competition offers some of the most prestigious incentives in the Indian legal circuit:

• Winner: ₹25,000 + Internship with S&R Associates (for students) + Publication in CBCL Blog.
• First Runner-up: ₹20,000 + Publication in CBCL Blog.
• Second Runner-up: ₹15,000 + Publication in CBCL Blog.
• Top 10: Certificate of Merit.
• All Participants: Certificate of Participation.

Registration Fees

In line with IDIA’s mission, the fee structure is designed to be inclusive:

• Single Author: ₹300
• Co-authored Entry: ₹500
• Inclusive Category: ₹100 (Applicable for IDIA Scholars, CAN Foundation Scholars, or PwD candidates).
