About the DPIIT-IPR Chair & RMLNLU
The DPIIT Chair for Intellectual Property Rights at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow, is a specialized academic initiative by the Government of India. It is dedicated to strengthening the IPR ecosystem through policy-oriented research, industry-academia collaboration, and capacity building.
The Journal of Intellectual Property and Legal Studies (JIPLS) serves as the Chair’s flagship annual publication, providing a platform for scholars, practitioners, and students to engage with the evolving challenges of IP acquisition, enforcement, and technology law.
Submission Themes
Manuscripts must pertain to the following fields:
- Intellectual Property Law (Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, GI, etc.)
- Media and Technology Law
- IP Management & Commercialization
- Interface of IP with Competition or Constitutional Law
Types of Submissions

Important Guidelines
- Abstract: Every manuscript must include a 150-word abstract with 5 keywords.
- Authorship: A maximum of two authors per submission is permitted.
- Originality: Similarity must be below 10% (UGC Regulations 2018). AI-generated content is strictly prohibited.
- Anonymity: The manuscript must be anonymized; personal details should only be in the cover letter.
- Citation Style: Authors must strictly follow OSCOLA (4th Edition).
Formatting Requirements
- File Type: Microsoft Word (.docx).
- Main Body: Times New Roman, Size 12, 1.5 line spacing.
- Footnotes: Times New Roman, Size 10, 1.0 line spacing.
- Headings: ALL CAPS for main headings; Title Case, Bold, and Underlined for sub-headings.
